Outdoor Pets and Shelter

Pets that live outside have a significantly shorter lifespan than pets that live their lives in comfort and warmth.
We recommend that all pets have the opportunity to live inside the house, but if that’s not possible, it’s important to offer your pet a nice warm place for them to seek shelter, plenty of blankets or straw for nesting, and endless fresh, unfrozen water for drinking. If you have questions, we’ll be glad to help.

ASPCA Winter Safety Tips

Canines may lose their scent in winter weather, and can easily become lost. Puppies can't handle the cold as well as adult dogs, and may be more difficult to housebreak during the winter.
